Influences

Joe Satriani, Eddie Van Halen, David Gilmore, Angus Young - The usual suspects... I am influenced by just about anything really. If it makes a sound I am influenced by it. Louder sounds like my bike, can sometimes influence me to do things I shouldn't...

Favourite Bands

Alice in Chains, AC/DC, Van Halen, Led Zepplin, U2, Pink Floyd, The Who, Loudness, Mindfunk, Eric Johnson, The Sex Pistols, The Scorpions, Judas blah blah blah! - Basically, with the amount of music available it might be better to say that I just about everything at one time or another. I love guitar music - all kinds.

Previous Bands

(USA)
The Conrads, Jigsaw Murphy, many others including Basic Radio (then became Operation Ivy which then became Rancid)

(UK)
Union Square, Fused, Lucid, and various others

Guitars

In order of preference - but this changes from time to time:

Gibson Les Paul Custom in Black, Tokai Les Paul Custom in vintage white, Ibanez DT-420 Destroyer, Ibanez Sabre 540. The Destroyer, The Gibson and Tokai Les Pauls, have Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck Humbuckers installed at the bridge.

All setup perfectly by Ray Cooper Guitars

Amp/Effects/Cab

Peavey JSX Head, Peavey JSX slant 4x12, and a TC Electronic G-System

So far so good. This thing sounds awesome and has been tough as nails -

I have replaced the valves with some cryogenically treated (lower gain) ones which now allows me to crank the gain on both distorted channels to about 50% - 60% instead of much lower settings. This seems to give more sustain? I like it anyway and I think it sounds cool :O)

The wheels on the cab have pretty much disintegrated and now need to be replaced twice!!!

The G-System sounds really clear and doesn't mess with the sound of the JSX at all. It retains all the tone of the JSX and does just about anything you want.

If the JSX was a stereo amp I would be in heaven. Hey PEAVEY, can you make a JSX 2 x 60 watt stereo version???
